Shirogane wasn't really sure what most people did on their days off. Nor did he particularly care what they did as long as it didn't directly involve him because he had his own plans and no time to play with idiots.

Which was why when Fujiko had come barging into his room and plopped herself down beside him, he ignored her and continued to read his book.

Fujiko didn't even bother with knocking (who knocks, anyway? He was lucky she actually bothered with the door at all and didn't just teleport into his room).

When he didn't acknowledge her presence even when she all but threw herself onto whatever he was sitting on, she decided to give him to the count of five to rectify this before she took matter into her own hands.

By the time she got to three in her head she decided he's had enough time and swings her legs over his lap. "Fujiko is bored."

Shirogane lowers his book and gives her legs an offended look before turning said look on her, "That's not my problem."

As she should be able to see: he's reading. And he intends to continue reading whether she removes her legs or not.

Fujiko huffs. Her legs were sexy. Don't you dare look at them like they're anything less than perfect.

She begs to differ. It was totally his problem because what was the point of her keeping a hot guy like him around if not to entertain her? Instead of saying that, though, she just lifts a hand up and teleports his book into her hands.

"What are you reading that's so interesting anyway?"

As far as Shirogane's concerned, they're just a pair of appendages attached to an idiot. The book disappearing out of his hands to reappear in hers catches him by surprise though. (Although it isn't the first time that's happened and he really should have learned by now.)

"Hey!"

He turns to reach for the book. What if you lose his page?!

Shirogane didn't think there was anything wrong.

He was sleeping well at night (or at least, as well as he normally did. Four hours give or take, with his head resting against his arm as he sat at the computer.)

He ate, remembering to feed his housemate (because that guy was a genius, a level 4 glaciokinetic, and still managed to think that it was perfectly fine to subsist on instant food.)

As far as he was concerned, the only change was that he'd found every opportunity not to go to B.A.B.E.L. headquarters and to stay at home.

It was better this way anyways. Quieter. He didn't care anyways. He liked it this way.

The only one who thought nothing was wrong was probably him.

Fujiko already noticed the next day when he didn't show up to work. She asked his housemate/childhood friend, of course and he told her that Shirogane has troubles on his mind.

Fujiko couldn't imagine what kind of trouble could keep that workaholic from coming in, but then she was called in to deal with the Kyousuke they found so she didn't inquire any further.

When he still didn't show up the next day and the day after, she began to get suspicious. So when Ryuuko mentioned that there was something he was supposed to bring back to Shirogane, Fujiko volunteered to go in his stead.

Which was why she was in front of their apartment. She paused to think for a moment before knocking on the door.

"Shirogane~ it's Fujiko! I'm coming in!" And that was all the warning he gets before she teleports into the apartment. As his (semi)official girlfriend it was her right to do so.

There's only the slightest pause of his fingers against the keyboard before he goes back to work, intending to ignore her.

Fujiko knew something was wrong (her woman's intuition told her so). she frowned at him for a moment before sauntering over. She pouted at him.

"Is that anyway to greet someone who came all this way to see you?"

He doesn't turn away from his computer, "I didn't ask for you to come."

The R&D Department was going through one of their infamous testing phases, where everything would hinge on whether or not something that was perfect on paper actually worked out in real life. Shirogane had spent days on that project, only taking the occasional break to eat and to take brisk showers in lieu of sleeping the full eight hours he normally would have. He was starting to find it difficult to remember what it was like to sleep on a bed.

Which was why he should have known better than to let himself be lured down here.

That was what he kept telling himself as he fumbled pointedly with the door which still remained stubbornly locked. Sure, Fujiko had told him she had locked it and there was no way out, but that didn't mean that he shouldn't try.

He had work to do and didn't have the time to spent trapped here.

"Open it."

"It's good manners to say 'please' when you ask someone something."

She sat cross legged on her bed, not even bothering to hide her amusement as she watched him.

He turned around and glared at her, "Please open it."

"No."

He slams his fist against the door, "There is a limit to how much of your selfishness I can take in one day. I need to go back to work."

Shirogane had always been a light sleeper. It didn't help when your childhood friend was the kind of person that could either end up being known as a genius or a psychopath.

He did sleep his full eight hours though, whenever he was able (because a body functions best at eight hours, and no one was changing his opinion on that). It was probably because he hadn't been sleeping properly lately what with projects and what Ryuuko had dubbed as "troubles", that he's sluggish when he feels movement on the bed. There were only so many all-nighters you could pull until your body had decided that it had had enough.

He cracks open one eye and glares at the blurry...whatever it was...that was waking him up before he remembers why there is movement on his bed in the first place.

And then he just buries his head in the pillow and decides to ignore it.

If Fujiko had actiually been awake she would have complained about him ignoring a pretty girl like her.

As it was though, Fujiko was sleeping like a log. She doesn't move pointlessly though. At the moment she was groping blindly in Shirogane's direction. Her hand catches he sleeve for a moment and she holds onto it, mumbling in her sleep.

If this was anyone else, they'd probably have thought that motion was cute. Shirogane though, was more preoccupied over thinking why he had decided last night that it was a good idea for him to let her stay.

Oh, right.

He hadn't.

But it had been impossible to get rid of her, so he had lent her his clothes and told her to take his bed. He would take the couch.

He had no idea why they were now in the same bed.

It was because he loved her, obviously. (And because she teleported him back onto the bed after he insisted on staying on the couch.)

She mumbled sleepily again and, having confirmed that he was there, rolled over towards him.

He was too deep into his thoughts to notice until the hand on his sleeve turned into a woman against his side.

He tries to push her away via a hand on her head.

Shirogane sighs heavily as he leans against the railing of the balcony, a golden glass of Piper Heidsieck 1907 in his hand. He really wasn't sure why he was here.

One moment he had been working at home, the next moment he had felt a pair of arms around his shoulders and a familiar scent before there was a shifting of his surroundings that signalled teleportation.

Then he'd found himself here. In the middle of nowhere. And hadn't he just finished drinking from this glass? Why...was it full again?

The day had started as normally. Then she'd stopped in the hall to talk to one of the guys in R&D, one of Shirogane's friends(?) by the name of Kou. She wasn't entirely certain how their conversation got to that point, but they started discussing Shirogane and alcohol.

What she heard had been interesting enough to warrant kidnapping further investigation.

Which is why they were here, with her topping off his glass with the most expensive champagne in her collection.

Then she was topping off her own.

"This was one of my father's most prized bottles."

Shirogane watches the tiny bubbles rise up from the bottom of the glass for a while, distracted before he tilts his head to look at her, "Why are you opening it then?"

"Champagne is made to be drunk, Shirogane~." She took a sip from her glass and smiled at him. "And what better time to enjoy it than on a warm night with good company?"
