Another AU, Erika also aged up and wow, Shirogane sure is multi-talented...

The last model was late. Erika couldn't believe it. How could he be late!?

The original model had ended up with a stomach flue so she still had to do last minute adjustments on the new model before the show started.

"Where is he!? How could this happen to me?" This day was supposed to be perfect! The show would be perfect and, at the end, Erika would walk onto the stage, cementing her place as the successful rising star in the fashion industry!

And now everything was falling apart because one of her models was late.

She breathed deeply and slapped both her cheeks. "Calm down, Erika. You can't lose your cool now. He'll definitely get here. Definitely."

She's quiet for a long moment, then...

"WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME!?"

Well, he is pretty smart and dedicated when he's interested, so.

What Shirogane had meant to do, was to scout out new talent for his company's business. Sure, he could have delegated it.

But he was also of the opinion that he didn't want a job done twice, so it would be better for him to do it. What he hadn't expected was to see the young woman he had been paying attention to for most of the night (because of her designs) to be having what looked like a minor breakdown in the hallway.

True.

Erika stopped short when she noticed Shirogane.

Some people, when put in this situation would get frustrated and angry. (Why were you late!? Don't you know I needed you here an hour ago!!?)

Erika wasn't that kind of person. Erika's first reaction in this kind of situation isn't 'why didn't you get here sooner!?' instead it was...

"Thank goodness you're here!" She closed the distance between the two of them faster than a woman in heels had any right to (she had practice running in heels) and grabbed his hand in both of hers.

What. Was. Happening.

He just stares at her, not understanding how she even got here that fast and why she was holding onto his hand.

His lack of response didn't bother her in the least.

"I'll listen to your explanation later!" She turned around and attempted to pull Shirogane along, "If we hurry we can still make it in time for you to go on stage."

Shirogane is digging his heels in, because WHAT IS HAPPENING, "I don't know who you think I am, but I'm not that person!"

This was one situation where Erika could have used some Precure strength. Sadly, that was not possible at the moment. She turned with a frown.

"What do you mean you're not that person? You're my missing model, aren't you?"

Model? She thought he was her model? What part of him looked like a model?!

"No."

"You're not?"

Erika let go of him and turned around to look at him critically. He had the height (and it was just right for the outfit too), the face and, more importantly, his posture was perfect. So Erika asked:

"Would you like to be?"

"What? Why?"

He didn't sign up for this!

"Because my model isn't here and even if he gets here I won't have any time to make the adjustments if he can't make it in..." She looked at her watch, "Three minutes. Maybe less."

He had just wanted to observe. But....he wouldn't be seeing the show as it was meant to be seen if it wasn't complete. Not to mention the fact that being backstage would probably give him an unparalleled look at how she worked.

He sighs, resigned, "....Fine."

"Thank you!" She grabbed his hand again. "You're a life saver!" Then, without further ado she was dragging him into the back room.

Past the models she had put the finishing touches on who were lining up to go on stage, past the dressing tables and into the back where her work table and supplies were. The entire area was a disaster with fabric and various other scraps and things spread out on the floor. It was like a bunch of clothes exploded all over the place.

The entire area made Shirogane highly uncomfortable. How could one small place be that messy?!

He has to sidestep around bolts of fabric, and piles of...things, "This place is a mess."

The answer, as he would learn in later years, is that Erika had been here. That's why.

It should not have been possible for Erika to walk through the area without stepping on anything, but somehow she managed.

"It can't be helped: I was working, after all." She pulled the tape measure ribbon off her table as she passed and draped it over her neck. Erika made it across the room, and took the outfit that was hanging there.

"Even if you're working, that's no excuse. How do you even find things in here?"

"Oh, don't worry about me!" She laughed. "I can find everything just fine. Here." And without any other explanation she hands the outfit to Shirogane. "Hurry up and put this on."
