He can feel a headache coming on, "Those two things cannot be compared like that. We're in an important stage of testing, I have to supervise and make sure that everything goes smoothly."

Actually, he didn't really have to. Everyone had told him to take a rest when he'd gotten the call to go down to report to the Director. But that didn't matter. He was going to supervise and no one was stopping him.

She floated up a bit further to pressed a kiss to the top of his head.

"Things aren't going to go wrong if you're gone for a little while."

Shirogane resists the urge to lean into that kiss. He blames his lack of self-control on his own tiredness.

"You don't know that."

"I do." She framed his face with her hands, pressing her forehead against his. "It was in your reports, remember? As long as they follow your instructions it will be fine because you've managed to bring the possibility of failure down to nearly 1%."

It's a bad habit of hers, surprising him. Shirogane could barely go one day without her foisting something that hadn't been part of his plans on him.

His eyes are wide and his voice disbelieving though, as he looks back at her, "You actually read my reports?"

She chuckled. "Of course!" If she didn't, she wouldn't be able to figure out a way to get him to rest.

It had been a request from his partner and fellow head of the R&D department, and Fujiko intended to see it through.

Oh. Wow. Um. Shirogane isn't really sure what to say to that. The thought that she actually had any interest at all in the things he did...that was kind of odd. Odd and maybe a bit amazing.

"So will you come rest now? You need to take care of your body, you know."

"........Fine."

"Good." She placed a quick kiss on his nose before drifting back towards the bed.

He follows her, shrugging off his suit jacket and undoing his tie as he sits on the edge of the bed.

She peels the blankets back part way with a flick of her wrist, then stands in front of Shirogane. She batted away his hands with a tut.

"Here, let me do it." You're supposed to be resting and it starts this second.

"I'm not helpless enough that I'm unable to undo a tie."

But he lets her do as she pleases anyways.

"it's not about you being helpless." She paused in order to lean up and press a kiss to his forehead then pulled back with a smile. "I just want to spoil you a bit today."

Shirogane sighs, "....do as you like."

When has she ever not?

She finished undoing his tie with a smile. Hm...those shoes are going to have to go, too.

With a flick of her hand the shoes were teleported off his feet and left beside the door.

"There."

He starts unbuttoning the cuffs on his shirt, rolling them up as he lifts his legs onto the bed.

As soon as he was done she'll pull the covers over him. Fujiko did it with her hands instead of with psychic powers because some things are better done that way.

"Would you like some water?"

"No. I'm fine."

With a faint hum, she drifted over to the other side of the bed, pulled up the blankets and slipped under them.

She reached out to hold onto him.

He reaches out as well, drawing her to him, arm wrapping around her waist as he closes his eyes.

Fujiko isn't entirely sure if the reason he was being so cooperative was because he was just that tired.

Either way, she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth as she strokes his head.

They lay like that for a while, his breath slowing and evening out as he falls asleep, arm still holding onto her.

It felt nice like this, her hand touching his hair.

She continued to stroke his hair for a while even after he fell asleep.

She let out a quiet, amused huff. "...honestly. What am I going to do with you?" she stopped finally, before snuggling up to him with a contented sigh, followed by a yawn.

"Learn to take better care of yourself, idiot."
