Outwardly, Shirogane really didn't look drunk. But he knew from experience that it was likely that he was.

He had just punched Kou in the gut for no reason other than that guy was most likely responsible for his current state, after all. Apparently he tended to be very honest when he was drunk. Ryuuko had told him that one morning when he woke up with a headache. He was likely to have a headache tomorrow.

But for now, the world is ever so slightly out of focus as he makes his way calmly down the hall towards his room in the hotel.

Erika had asked them to come along for her latest fashion show out of the country. They had agreed because how could they say no? As it turned out, Shirogane and his friends were also in the same city.

When Erika found out that they were even staying in the same hotel, she decided that they should could all help her with a little project of hers.

She had a bunch of wedding gowns she was putting finishing touches on for a new line she will be pushing out during the summer. She wanted some photos first and, hey, since they were all here why not have them be the models?

If Tsubomi knew Erika planned to pair her up with Shirogane she would have tried to veto the idea.

Still, she'd seen the pictures on Erika's camera and they were...really nice. Really, really nice.

She blushed and ducked her head when she remembered. Aaaaah, what was she thinking!?

Tsubomi took a deep breath just as the elevator signalled that it had arrived on her floor and, breathing out, she stepped into the hall.

She was supposed to meet her friends down in the lobby after she got something from her room, so she had intended to hurry...

...up until she saw a familiar figure.

"Good evening, Shirogane-san."

Shirogane stops when he sees her, and then blinks when he remembers the show with her friend earlier. As he is now, he's able to admit to himself that yes, she had looked nice in the wedding dress. Even though he really couldn't bring himself to care too much about fashion, the image of the way she looked stayed in his mind.

"...Good evening."

"Are you turning in for the night?" She can't imagine why else he would be up here during the evening.

It felt a little early to be going to bed, but maybe he had an early day tomorrow?

"I'm planning to. I've had too much to drink, it would be a bother if I accidentally did something."

Like punch Kou again.

"You've been drinking?" She honestly couldn't tell since he looked just like he always did. More importantly...

"Do you need any help getting back to your room?"

"Kou had been shoving drinks at me and I didn't notice they were alcoholic till it was too late. But I can manage."

Then he promptly trips over one of the couches in the hotel hall.

"Shirogane-san!"

The moment it looked like he was going to trip over the couch she had moved to steady him.

He was heavier than her, but she could manage it with only a little difficulty.

"I think it would be best if I walked you back to your room..."

Shirogane doesn't reply, staring at her face which is so close to his. He remembers her in the wedding dress next to him, the tiny white flowers on the veil, the way she had smiled to herself as she looked down at the bouquet. His gaze drifts down to her mouth as she talks.

Abruptly, he pulls away and sits on the couch (on the first try, too) and buries his head in his hands.

He was going to kill Kou. Kill him dead.

Tsubomi was so focused on helping him and on trying to remember which room he stayed in that she barely even noticed the staring.

She did notice though when he pulled away and sat down.

Tsubomi had no idea what to do with a drunk since her father hardly even indulged in alcohol. So she was...at a lost to say the least. She walked over and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Shirogane-san? Is everything all right?"

If he hadn't been drunk he probably would have shrugged her hand off. As it was though, he...can't. He could feel the warmth of her hand through his shirt...and she was so close and it was tempting. It didn't take him long to come to a conclusion (since he was more inclined not to think about things when he was drunk).

He looks up, eyes serious (and outwardly not drunk at all.) "I want to kiss you."

...excuse her a moment, Shirogane, her brain sort of needs a moment to hard reset. Because...what? WHAT?

Tsubomi's face heated up and she found that all she could do was open and close her mouth over and over and she had to remind herself that he was drunk even if he didn't look it.

"Sh-shirogane-san, you're drunk. We should get you back to your room." Right now. She took her hand off his shoulder and reached for his arm as if to pull him up.

Shirogane takes her hand and pulls her closer to him instead when she reaches for him, voice sincere, "I want to kiss you, Tsubomi."

Tsubomi would be lying if she said she didn't occasionally daydream about something like this happening. What had started as a small crush during their time in space had gradually become something that was nearly impossible to shake off.

"Um." In none of those daydreams though, had Shirogane been drunk. "I-It's not that I wouldn't like that...I mean." Why her? Why was this happening to her? "You're probably just thinking this because you're drunk. You should go sleep it off."

"The effects of alcohol intoxication are generally euphoria and lowered social inhibitions. It doesn't make you think things you would not normally think."

He frowns at her, not letting go of her hand, "If it's not that you wouldn't like it, why won't you believe me?"

Because you're drunk!"

...but, is he saying that he normally wanted to kiss her?

Tsubomi took a deep breath. "...I do believe you. Well...sort of." Her hand tightens around his, "It's just...you're very important to me. I respect you as a friend and as a person. So, more than anything, I don't want you to do anything you might regret when you're sober."

"I don't regret the things I do. You should know this."

He normally didn't let himself think about things like physical desire. When sober, he doesn't dwell on things not related to work, because they were working together on her dream to make flowers bloom in space. Shirogane couldn't afford to make mistakes by letting himself get distracted. The most he was willing to admit was that he enjoyed her company and found her mind and personality attractive.

But his traitorous mind was now reminding him of the way she tucked her hair behind her ears when she read reports, the faint scent of flowers if she were leaning in particularly close. The hand not holding hers came up to brush against her cheek, tucking her hair behind one ear. He'd always wanted to do that.

"Please, Tsubomi."

If her face could get any redder his action just now would have done it.

For a moment she couldn't reply, couldn't even move (she wouldn't be surprised if she had held her breath for a moment too).

Then without even thinking about it, she nodded.

"...un."

Dimly in the back of his mind, he notices that the angle is a bit awkward, since she is still standing and he has to lean forward out of the chair, but she had said yes. She had said yes.

That was all the incentive he needs to cup one hand against the back of her head and pull her down so he can brush his lips chastely against hers.

He hadn't imagined the kiss would feel this soft.

Tsubomi let out a surprised sound when he pulled her in. One of her hands reached out to steady herself, landing on his shoulder.

Then he was kissing her. He was kissing her. Wh-what was she supposed to do? Tsubomi had no idea how these things were supposed to go!

Thankfully, she doesn't have much time to wonder about stuff like that, since it is no time at all before Shirogane is pulling away. The hand on the back of her head slides to cup against her cheek.

Actually, Shirogane kind of wonders if he can kiss her again.

Suddenly, Tsubomi remembered the time when she was fourteen and tried to get a couple together using that old bridge trick. She wonders how she could have been so foolish as to think that would work.

The way her heart was pounding right now...it couldn't be compared to the way a person's heart skips a beat when they step onto a rocky bridge.

"...Shirogane-san?"

Shirogane watches the way her mouth moves as she says his name, and then decides to hell with it. He pulls her down into his lap, and tilts his head to kiss her again.

This angle was a lot better than the one before. He didn't have to crane his neck, for one. Her glasses were still kind of in the way though.

She tensed for a minute in surprise though after a moment she relaxes against him and tentatively brings her hands up to frame his face.

Shirogane had told himself, 'Just once more.'

It was difficult, however, for him not to get lost in that sweet, almost rose-like scent of her hair, the feeling of having her so close, and the elated feeling of her having said 'yes'.

'Just once more', he tells himself, but each time he pulls back, it only becomes more difficult to let go. So instead of letting go, he finds himself leaning in again, content to press kisses against her lips until she tells him to stop.
