"It's too early to go to bed, Shirogane." No, seriously, it was way to early to be sleeping. She reaches over to unpack the groceries again. "Besides, I still have patrols tonight."

"I'll contact someone and cancel it."

He pushes the groceries away, and because she hasn't complied, he begins steering her in the direction of their room.

"You can't just cancel my patrol for no reason." She protested. "Why are you being so insistent on this?"

"I'm being insistent-"

He kicks the door open with one foot, "-Because you don't know how to take care of yourself."

"What are you--" The rest of the sentence was interrupted by a short coughing fit. When it stop she just looked back at him, exasperated, "It's just a cough. It's not that bad..." At least, that's all it was in the morning...

"Your opinion on this matter is wrong, and unsolicited."

He drags her into their room and pushes her to a sitting position on the bed before he heads for the closet where she keeps her clothes.

All he really had to do was tell her she had a fever. Aqua wasn't so stubborn or that bad at taking care of herself that she'd try to work in that kind of condition.

As it was though, she had to work through the problem herself. Shirogane wasn't the sort who liked seeing people shirk their responsibilities, so there had to be a reason...

"What's going on Shirogane?"

"You're running a fever and not listening."

He pushes a pile of clothing into her arms, "Change into this."

Then he leaves for the kitchen to make soup.

She took the clothes he gave her without really thinking about it. Aqua kept staring at the spot Shirogane occupied even after he left before slowly touching her forehead with the inside of her own wrist. She was running a fever...? Did it really get this bad without her noticing?

After a moment she let her hand drop. She would just have to trust him on this. She changed into the clothes he gave her.

He comes back after a short while with tea (because soup took time, and he was certain that something hot could only benefit her).

"Here. Ginger tea."

When she was finished changing, she went to the washroom to leave her clothes in the hamper there. Shirogane came back to the room just when she came out of there.

She moved over to take the tea from him, "...thank you." She couldn't really remember the last time someone did something like this for her.

"You don't have to do this. I'm sure I'll be fine after a good night's rest."

"By having soup and tea, it can only increase your chances to getting better."

Tea delivered, he heads back out for the soup.

She watched his back until she couldn't see him through the open door any more. Then she stared down at the mug in her hands.

It was...really warm.

With a tired smile, she sat down on the edge of the bed to drink it.

In the kitchen, Shirogane puts together a simple chicken soup. Thankfully, they have broth already made, and it only take a bit of work to fill it full of vegetables sliced thin so they cook quickly and shredded chicken.

The more he thinks about her having a fever though, the angrier he gets. What kind of idiot didn't notice they'd gotten a fever?

She'd finished about half the tea before she sets it down on the bedside table. It wasn't that she didn't want to finish it, it's just that, she was feeling a little tired.

"If I lay down for a moment it would be okay, right?" She couldn't just go to sleep, though. Shirogane was making her soup. She didn't want to waste his efforts. Despite thinking that, Aqua found herself nodding off anyway.

When he comes in, she's asleep. And with a sigh, he sets the tray down on the table beside the bed.

"Aqua."

He gives her shoulder a shake.

"You have to eat something."

"Mm..." She frowned at the shaking though her eyes eventually open to stare blearily at him. It wasn't that strange for her to do this. Even on a good day Aqua was the sort of person who took a few minutes just to wake up properly.

Her eyes are open, that's good enough.

He sits down on the bed, "Can you sit up?"

Her reply took a second longer than it would normally, but eventually she did answer.

"Yes..." She pushed herself up slowly, still not entirely awake.

He waits till she's sitting up properly and more or less steady before he sets the tray on her lap.

When she was up she tried to rub the sleep from her eyes. She was more awake by the time he set the tray on her lap. She looked up at him with a tired, apologetic smile. "Sorry for causing so much trouble."

"You need to learn to take care of yourself. Now eat, and then you need to get some rest."

He'll just be sitting here to supervise.

She picks up the spoon.

"I didn't expect it to get this bad." This was kind of nostalgic. When was the last time she'd gotten this sick...?

"That better not be an excuse."

"It's not. I--" She put down the spoon again when she felt a cough coming on. She put a hand over her mouth to cover it.
