Shirogane turns around as well, arm still looped around Fujiko's waist to look at the newcomer.

....It was a skeleton in a JR employee uniform. Who then opens his mouth and talks.

IS ONE NOT ENOUGH?

"There isn't enough variety." She squirmed a little, finding a position where she could comfortably pillow her head on Shirogane's shoulder and still see Death.

THERE ARE SEASONAL SPECIALS.

Shirogane was never very good at talking to new people (or to people in general), so he stays quiet, opting to watch Death calmly and run his hand through Fujiko's hair.

Fujiko absent-mindedly twirled a lock of Shirogane's hair on her finger.

"They repeat a lot." Especially after being here for as long as she had. "But I guess since we're getting on the next train it won't be my problem any more."

Shirogane doesn't stop her from playing with his hair. It's not like she can tangle it.

YOU ARE?

If a skeleton can look puzzled, it would probably be making a face like Death is making now.

YOU TWO DO NOT NEED MORE TIME?

Because from the way Albert had talked about it, he thought they'd be here longer.

She grinned, moving back just enough to look Shirogane in the face.

"We have all the time we need."

"That's true."

He bumps his forehead against hers, eyes soft.

Death raises a bony hand to his mouth (or more like to his teeth).

AH HEM.

Coughing was difficult when you didn't possess the necessary body parts for it.

"Hm?" Fujiko turned as if she only just remembered Death was there. "Yes~?"

Albert nudges Death pointedly and Death, looking as embarrassed as a skeleton can, turns back to look at the two of them.

THE TRAIN. YOU CAN TAKE IT NOW CAN YOU NOT?

At that, Shirogane turns to look at the train (which is still whistling. But now in short, extremely annoyed bursts.), "Where does that even go?"

"Of course~."

She laughs, at Death, at Albert and, of course, at Shirogane as well. "Does it matter?"

".............No."

That had pained him a lot to say, just so you know.

THE DOORS ARE THAT WAY. I'M SURE THERE MUST BE AN EMPTY CAR THERE.

Oh, she knows. She knows.

Fujiko considered the door. Walking to the door would mean letting go and, despite the fact that she said they had all the time in the world, she wasn't quite ready to do that yet.

"All right."

She looked back at Shirogane, letting their noses brush as she asked, "Ready to go?" Even as she asked she was preparing to teleport.

It said a lot about how well he knew her now that he knew she was probably going to teleport. So he just smiles instead (treasure it, Fujiko, the likelihood of him smiling for you again is low) and leans closer, "Yes."

With a bright smile she closes what little distance remained between them and kissed him. She shut her eyes, but even as she did so she knew exactly where they were and what was around them.

Then it was only a matter of deciding on where they will go--

--then they were kissing on the train instead of the platform. A quick check told her no one else was here. Good.

Death just...looked at the spot they had been only a moment before. Albert was probably going to complain a lot about this afterward.

Shirogane though, doesn't know or really care what happens to Albert. The thought that he was supposed to be lecturing her for those 70 years hadn't occured to him yet. For now, he was content to just keep kissing her. They had all the time in the world now.

Fujiko would have liked to hear the complaints, actually. She always found Albert's little complaints amusing.

She couldn't have everything she wants, however. And, let's be honest here, she wanted this, what they had right now, more than she wanted anything else.

When she broke the kiss she smiled at him. "So? How was everyone? Did Minamoto and Kaoru finally get together? And Shiho and Ryuuko? How were they doing?"

"Everyone was doing fine. Shiho and Ryuuko were as they always are."

Which is to say: idiots.

"And Kaoru and Minamoto married. I went to that wedding."

Her eyes practically shone at that last bit of news. "Really? You mean Minamoto-kun finally confessed!?"

"I guess."

Honestly, he didn't really care. But he did attend it, because he owed Kaoru and Minamoto.

"Aaaaah. That's amazing! I didn't think he had it in him! Kaoru-chan probably made a beautiful bride!"

She wished she could have seen it. Though now that she's thought about it, she wonders what it would have been like to be a bride herself...

Which reminds her...

She pulls away with a bright smile.

"Speaking of marriages, Fujiko has something of yours~."

Something of his? He immediately goes for his pockets and searches for his wallet.

Why your wallet, Shirogane? It's not like she's has a habit of taking that! (She usually just steals his shirts.)

"Hehe." She watches him for a moment before hold her hand out, palm up. In the blink of an eye, there was a ring box sitting on her palm. "Of course, it should be Fujiko's, but that's not until you give it to me properly."

The box is free for him to take, by the way. She's not very well going to stop him.

He resents her habit of stealing his shirts. His shirts don't even fit her so he really doesn't understand why she even took them in the first place.

That ring box though...he takes it and opens it, not quite believing he was holding it. (Not only because it was guarded by rotating shifts of snipers.)

"How do you even have that?"

Inside was the ring he had bought for her, so many years ago. A ring that he had bought much too late at the time, a slim band of rose gold with a single diamond flanked by tiny seed pearls.

Some men found it sexy, you know. Fujiko did it mostly to annoy him though.

"It was in the lost and found at the station." She smiled, a little nostalgic when she remembered rifling through the Lost and Found one day (her intuition said to do it) and found a pretty ring there and putting it on. She remembered what she read from it and the way she had stormed up to Death and demanded to know (because otherwise she'd cry and that was unacceptable.

"He said it's because when you give someone something like that, it's theirs by right, but they most find it all the same. He said it was because it was a story."

Sorry, but most of that kind of went over his head.

"I don't understand what a story has to do with it."

He removes the ring from the box, looking at it as he remembered going into the jewellery store with a gaggle of way-too-young esper girls who cooed over everything while he stood stony-faced and ordered his ring from the woman working at the counter who wasn't sure what to make of the whole situation.

"....So do you want it or what?"
