Fujiko sighed, leaning over to put her chin on his shoulder.

"You'll give a girl a complex, ignoring her like that."

[He makes a typo when he feels her chin against his shoulder, but he corrects it and keeps typing.]

Don't think she didn't notice that.

Smirking only a little she sighed even more theatrically, tilting her head a little so that it was pressed against his cheek. One of her hands started drawing patterns on his chest idly.

"It's good manners to greet people, you know."

He stops typing, takes a deep breath and then swats her hands away.

"Unlike you, I'm actually doing something serious, so stop bothering me."

She moved back, hovering behind his chair with her arms crossed.

"You're no fun."

"I'm not here to amuse you. Please find someone else for that."

"But Fujiko wants you."

[thelongestword]

"I have no interest in you. Leave."

She sniffed. "That's a lie and you~ know~ it~."

"Isn't that just you lying to yourself?"

"Prove it." She grinned. "If you can prove that you aren't affected by Fujiko then I'll leave you alone for the rest of the week."

"Fine."

He has full confidence in himself, just so you know.

"It's a bet then. Fujiko will meet you after work for a date." This is non-negotiable.

He isn't going to lose.

"Fine."

But even with that said he's working up till the very last moment before their date, still entering data and crunching numbers. Because work, okay.

It was fine, Fujiko preferred to be fashionably late. Besides, she ended up spending a lot of time painstakingly choosing her outfit.

In the end, she went with a short, off-shoulder dress with puffy sleeves and sandles.

She hummed to herself a little as she took the elevator up to the lobby, She wasn't as late as she normally might be, arriving only a couple of minutes after he would have been finished.

She had a feeling that, bet or no bet, he might actually leave if she didn't.

"Good evening! Fujiko hopes you weren't kept waiting~."

"I need to finish this part first."

Yeah, sorry, it seems like Fujiko will be the one waiting.

...she is seriously tempted to just unplug that damn computer.

What she does instead is float over and sit down beside him. On his table, of course.

"How long will it take?"

Shirogane only reaches out to move the data closer to him when she sits on his table.

"Ten minutes."

She crosses her legs with a huff.

"You're supposed to be on time for a date you know."

"Something came up."

And he's working as fast as he can, okay.

She leans forward, resting her chin on her palm.

"Something more important than our date?"

[thelongestword]

"Yes."

He doesn't feel the need to tell her what it is. He needs to keep concentrating with his numbers...and...there.

He was done. Saving the file, he pushes back from the table.

"Where are we going?"

"Hmph."

Fujiko wasn't sure, even now, why she fell in love with this guy. He was unlikable, unsociable and about as friendly as a cactus. In the beginning the only reason she approached him was because he was good looking and because he had interesting reactions. Somewhere along the line though, that had changed.

She still wasn't entirely sure why she didn't just leave and go enjoy the evening by herself. (Her time was precious too, you know.)

Fujiko stood up as well when he was done.

"I made a reservation at a nice Japanese restaurant nearby."

"Then let's go."

Grabbing his suit jacket from the back of his chair, Shirogane pulls it on in a practised motion before buttoning the single button.

And the moment he had his jacket on properly she was winding her arms through his and pressing close.

"Okay~."
