He titlted his head, not entirely sure why she's pouting.

"But it doesn't matter." He doesn't move to stop her from tugging, it didn't particularly bother him either way. "As long as it's you it's fine no matter how uncomfortable I am."

He is totally oblivious to how that could be interpreted..at least at the moment.

".............Are you saying that I always make you uncomfortable?"

Her tone is joking, but her eyes don't turn away from his as she says this. Of course, it will be easy to just read it from him, but she didn't do that to the people she cared about.

Ryuuki's eyes widened and in a second his eyes went from the obliviously perplexed look of before to full-blown panic.

"No! Th-that's not what I'm saying at all! It's the opposite, Shiho! The opposite! Y-you're very comfortable! Very, very comfortable!" He was about a few seconds away from flailing physically.

"Hm, I don't know? Should I believe you?"

She taps her feet against the ground, a finger on her chin and a teasing smile on her lips as she leans forward.

"How comfortable, exactly?"

Ryuuki nods very vigorously. of course you should believe him! He's telling the truth!

"How comfor--I don't." He's stumped. Compeletly and utterly stumped. "I don't know how to measure it..."

"Then...."

Her smile is sly as she brushes her nose against his, close but not close enough to kiss him,

"...On a scale of one to ten? One being extremely, extremely uncomfortable, the kind you get when something wet and cold and slimy touches your cheek in the dark."

Shiho lets her fingers dance along his arm, "Ten being super comfortable like when we nap together in the afternoon."

He doesn't even hesitate before he answers.

"Ten."

He moves and catches her hand in his with a smile.

"Everyday, every moment, it's a ten." He says, soft and sincere, "As long as you're with me."

She tries to keep a serious, aloof face. She really does. But she can't help the swell of happiness she feels every time he says something like this. Words that should be incredibly embarrassing, that are always said with such genuine warmth and love.

Shiho smiles, eyes bright as she lightly traces the line of his mouth with a fingertip, "If you keep saying things like that, I'll never leave your side for even a moment, you know?"

"That would be wonderful."

And he means it. The proof is there in the contentment written on his face and there in the thoughts she might catch through the hand he's still holding.

I love you. I want to be with you forever.
