"Ah. Is that so?" He looked down at her again and thought that that's an unfortunate thing to attract. At the same time, though it she wouldn't be able to answer his questions if she couldn't...

"That would explain why you can see me then."

It was difficult to offend Ryuuko (if such a thing was even possible), so he just smiled and stood up. "Of course I wouldn't mind." Halfway up though he realized for the first time that he was moving more easily than he should be able to given his injuries.

He looked down, and the gaping hole that should have been in his chest was gone.

Well. That was interesting.

Yako stood as well, dusting herself off and smoothing down her skirt, before turning her attention back towards the so-called dead man. He looked alive and well to Yako, and seemed to be fairly surprised by the state he was in as far as she could tell.

"Are you missing something?" she asked, glancing back at the scroll thoughtfully. There hadn't been any physically descriptions, or names beyond titles. It seemed ridiculous, too far-fetched to even entertain the thought, but Yako's life seemed to follow that pattern frequently enough.

"There's supposed to be a hole here." He placed a hand on his chest, some how more curious than relieved by that fact.

While on the surface Ryuuko may seem more 'human' than Shirogane when you really thought about he, they were both obviously not quite human, just in different ways.

He did have manners though. He turned to Yako with a smile, "Ah, forgive me. I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. I am Ryuuko, the...no." Without a tuner factor he was no longer King, was he? He looked a bit lost for a moment, before shrugging it off. "May I ask for your name?"

"Ah, then you are the King whose story was in the scroll." She smacked her fist down in her palm as she made the connection. The wound was the same, and the timing was too perfect for him to be some random person.

"My name is Yako," she told him freely, looking him up and down as if she could pinpoint what exactly about him was so unique as to set him entirely apart from the human race. "Katsuragi Yako. We're in my office." Well, one of her offices, but this was her first and favorite.

"...what scroll?" He was certain no one knew of his existence, so anyone being able to tell his story was equally unlikely. Still, he wasn't disbelieving or suspicious when he asked. Surprised, maybe. Curious, perhaps. But as of yet, he didn't know of any reason she would have to lie to him.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Katsuragi Yako." Physically there was really nothing to differentiate him from a normal human. It was mostly in the way he understood and dealt with emotions that made him different. "I have to say, your office is much cleaner than mine." Because Ryuuko had a tendency to pile everything haphazardly on his desk, especially when he started on a new project.

"This scroll." She picked up the relic at fault for her unforeseen visitor and held it out to him, before something occurred to her. "It's in an old form of Japanese, so I'm not sure if you'll be able to understand it." It would be frankly too perfect if he did, honestly, and Yako would have to start suspecting a setup of some sort.

"Um...likewise I suppose. Ryuuko-sama." Was that the proper way to address a king from a scroll? "Er...well, that's probably since I've been traveling up until recently. I'm usually really bad about being a packrat." At hime, her shelves and tables are overflowing with files and souvenirs and the odd takeout menu stack. Her old housekeeper would be appalled.

If there ends up being a relationship, he would see it like a social experiment. orz

He took the scroll she held out and, true enough, he couldn't read a word of it. Honestly, he probably wouldn't even know if he was holding it upside down. "I cannot. I suppose I will just have to take your word about its contents." He wonders idly how anyone could know about his story, given the circumstances. Then again, he wasn't about to rule it out as impossible.

Compared to a scroll he couldn't read, though, this woman was a lot more interesting.

"Oh? Where did you travel to?"
