The mumbling wakes Oichi up, and for a moment, she's unsure of what's happening and where she is. She follows the line of the pale throat all the way up to a soft jaw before she remembers.

That's right. Ichi was sleeping.

And with that knowledge, she immediately relaxes and snuggles close. Even Oichi isn't sure why she wants to be close, but some part of her knows without a doubt that maybe, just maybe, if she doesn't let go then Fujiko won't leave her behind.

Fujiko tightens her hold on whoever it was in her bed, before settling down again.

After a few more minutes of peaceful slumber someone started knocking on the door to Fujiko's room. She didn't wake up at first though. She just scrunched up her face and pulled the blanket over both their heads.

Oichi doesn't even hear the knocking (even when it starts getting louder) because as far as she was concerned, knocking wasn't her problem.

And it was warm under the blankets.

Unfortunately, even if Fujiko slept like a brick the constant and persistent knocking eventually made it difficult for her to keep sleeping peacefully.

She sat up slowly, the blanket sliding off them both to pull at her waist. She glared groggily at the door.

"Oh, honestly... unless the world is ending, go away!"

The blanket sliding off her head prompts Oichi to snuggle against Fujiko's side sleepily while a large hand materializes from the shadows of the blanket to tuck it more securely against the dark-haired woman.

Fujiko barely even noticed the hands now. They still didn't entirely understand the nature of Oichi's synthetic power, but as long as she was here Fujiko was sure she could deal with it.

When the knocking didn't stop, Fujiko looked to the side. Let's see...the alarm clock looks like a nice choice. She stroked Oichi's hair absentmindedly as she focused and teleported the alarm clock outside and a couple of feet above the person outside. When she heard a satisfying sound of someone going 'ouch' outside she smiled.

"Serves him right."

Oichi leans against Fujiko's hand for a moment before she looks up, not really quite awake, "Fujiko?"

"Hm?" She looks down and her expression softens. She brushes some of Oichi's hangs away with her thumb. "Sorry, did I wake you?"

[higannobana]

She shakes her head a little sleepily. She had never been very good at waking up.

"That's good." She smiled down at Oichi gently. "I guess we should get up. I can brush your hair for you if you want."

[higannobana]

Oichi rubs her eyes as she sits up, "Mm...Okay..."

"Good." She brought a hand up. Hm...the brush should be in the second drawer of her dresser...

In a second the brush appeared in her hand and she closed her fingers around it.

[higannobana]

Oichi doesn't even blink when the brush appears in Fujiko's hand, although she does spend a moment longer than necessary to stare at it.

With a quiet hum, Fujiko repositions herself so she was sitting behind Oichi and begins to brush her hair.

"Did you sleep well, last night, Ichi?"

[higannobana]

Oichi sleepily nods, and then gets distracted staring at the folds of the bedsheets as she passes her hand over them.

"That's good..."

It bothered Fujiko sometimes that this was all she could do.

For now.

Fujiko still held onto the hope that, one day, Oichi will recover or she will find a way to help her.

"Would you like me to put your hair up, today, Ichi?"

[higannobana]

Oichi doesn't turn away from the folds as she starts tracing one with her finger. She does nod again though.

Despite not having recovered, she was still happy. And if Fujiko had asked her, she would have told her that.

Once Fujiko was done brushing her hair, she set the brush down and teleports a box of hair accessories over.

Hm...

She holds up a ribbon against Oichi's hair. "Let's make you really pretty!"

She looks up then, and smiles, "Okay..."

Fujiko hums a little as she considers Oichi's hair.

The problem here was that Oichi's hair was so long. When a girl's hair got passed a certain length, their options really started to dwindle.

She set the ribbon to the side to be used later (maybe she could weave it in with whatever she ended up doing).

She put her hands under Oichi's hair, the side of her hand brushing against Oichi's nape.

"Let's put it up and curl it."

Oichi nods, relishing in the feel of Fujiko's hands in her hair.

Fujiko hummed a little as she worked. She paused halfway through, when she had Oichi's hair parted into two parts (to be braided in a moment). Fujiko leaned in to place a chaste kiss on the back of Oichi's neck, before pulling back to braid the left side.

"Ichi's hair is so pretty. I'm kind of jealous."
