Shiho looks up at the sound of her name, and when she sees his face, she is the one to reach out for his hand, "No...that's not what I meant. I...I..."

She held onto his hand tightly, "I...I...I didn't dislike it...or anything..."

Ack. Nothing was coming out right. But she wants him to understand. She had just been embarrassed.

"...are you sure?"

She nods, "Yes. It isn't Ryuuki's fault! I just. It's..."

She ducks her head, but doesn't let go of his hand, "embarrassing..."

"Embarrassing? Why would it be embarrassing?"

"Because..I think I really like you.

"I'm sorry. I didn't catch that."

She buries her head in her hands, "....Like you."

He still can't really hear her even though he strained to.

"Um...you," he was flailing internally, "you...pike me?"

She stands up and grabs his shirt, face feeling like it's on fire and maybe shouting just a little.

"Are you doing this on purpose?! Like! Like! Who's going to pike someone, you idiot!"

"Like?"

He repeats that word as if it were in a foreign language that he doesn't really understand.

Then it's like a light-bulb goes off in his head and he suddenly gets it.

"You mean...!"

Sorry, she's not done ranting. And now she's shaking him back and forth.

"You idiot! Super idiot! I don't even know why I like you! Honestly! You're not even listening, you...you!"

"I am listening!" But the shaking made his words come out a little jumbled.

"Sh-Shiho! Stop shaking me!"

Shiho stops shaking him kind of abruptly.

"Eh? What? I. I mean. Good!"

She's leaving now, who even cares if it's raining?! She just confessed and now she's going to go hide in her room behind the iron defense that was her dad.

OHGODTHISWASEMBARRASSING.

...wait. Was she turning to leave!?

He reached out on an impulse and pulled her against his chest.

"Wait, Shiho!"

And of course, she struggles, trying to tell herself that she wanted to leave and that he wasn't warm at all.

"I...! You! What do you think you're doing, idiot?!"

Ryuuki shrinks back on instinct, but he doesn't let go.

"Please calm down! Shiho, I..." He what? Ryuuki wasn't sure. Did he like Shiho back like that? He didn't really understand what that was supposed to feel like though.

"Could you listen to what I have to say before you leave?"

Shiho wasn't sure she wanted to hear what he had to say, but she stops struggling anyways, keeping her hands crossed much as she wanted to put them on his arm and read what he was thinking, "Fine."

"H-how do you know you like me?" And why him? Why, of all the wonderful amazing people she knew, did she choose him?"

Shiho is silent for a long time because this was embarrassing, okay?! But it was slightly better because she didn't have to look at his face. She focused on a spot on the ground, "...Because you're gentle, and an idiot. You know way too much about undressing women, and you're an idiot. You're lonely but you still smile all the time like an idiot. And I just want to stay by your side and make you happy."

She sniffles, bringing up a hand to brush tears from her eyes, "You're just an idiot and I don't even know why I like you. I just...I just do."

It was confusing enough to be told all that, the fact that she was crying just sent Ryuuki into a panic.

"D-don't cry! Please don't cry, Shiho!" Even though he was panicking horribly on the inside, he still brought a hand up to cup her face and brush away a stray tear with his thumb.

"Please don't cry. I never know what to do when you cry."

"I'm not crying. You idiot."

But despite that, she's turning around and burying her head in his chest.

And his arms automatically warp around her shoulders without thinking.

Shiho liked him. Shiho liked him.

It was a difficult idea to wrap his head around because no one has ever liked him like that.

"...yes. I'm an idiot." A pause then softer, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry."

There's a muffled 'You should be sorry' from Shiho. She's not moving any time soon.

I need to make new icons. Seriously.

"I am. I'm very, very sorry."

The expression he looked at her with was gentle as one of his hands came up to pet her hair.

"I promise, I won't make you cry again."

She looks up, frowns and then promptly buries her face in his shirt again, "Stupid."
