His ring was on her finger. She had liked it!]

[The ceremony was perfect. Every one of them had practised until they could do this in their sleep and it showed.

Then came the last part when they cast their rings into the sea, declaring their devotion to the waters.

It was really quite a beautiful and romantic moment.]

Was that his ring?! And it was sinking down into the depths of 'Hi-your-love-interest-just-dumped-your-ring'?!]

No...? I loved it. [She crouched down beside him and tried to peer at his face.] Why?

...Shou-kun. Did anyone tell you what the Marriage of the Sea ceremony is?

It's....It's where you give a ring to the girl...you...you like, right?

Well, I guess people do use it as a chance to give one to a girl they like! But the ceremony is symbolic of the relationship between an Undine and the sea.

[She stops. Thinks about what he said earlier. If he didn't know about the other side of the ceremony does that mean the only reason he gave her a ring was because...
