This was all really domestic and calm. It was very different from his life back when he still lived on Man-home and he was sure that the him back then would never have imagined something like this. (Possibly because past-him would have been buried neck deep in paper work and wouldn't have spared any time for something as frivolous as imagining things. There was work to do, you lazy fools!)

But despite that, he liked it. He liked her presence. When he wasn't being confused by that cat, he even tolerated Aria-shachou's presence.

With a sigh to bring himself back to reality, Shirogane starts clearing up his dirty dishes.

"Ah." She looks up, releasing Aria-shachou, "I can get that..."

"Don't worry about it."

He holds his plates out of her reach.

[distantblue]

Not fair. Especially since he was taller than her.

She still tries to reach for it anyway.

"I can't make you clean up."

[thelongestword]

"You're not making me do it. You can take the other half of the table."

He's already stacking his dishes because this isn't up for discussion.

[distantblue]

"I could have done it..." But she reaches to get the dishes on her half of the table anyway. If she let herself think about it a little more...this was kind of nice too.

Waking up together, eating together and cleaning up together; it's almost like...

"We can do it together. It's faster this way."

He's already on his way to the sink.

[distantblue]

"I guess so." She follows on his heels with her own dishes.

Setting his dishes down in the sink, he holds his hands out for hers.

[distantblue]

Akari almost starts to protest, but then she supposed it wouldn't be much help this time. She hands the dishes to him.

"Next time will be my turn to the do the dishes, okay?"

"Next time."

And then without much warning, he leans down and gives her a brief kiss.

[distantblue]

That kiss was unexpected. So much so that she just dropped all the dishes in her hand.

"Ah!" She bends down immediately, "I-I'll pick it up!"

"Don't pick it up! You'll cut yourself."

He grabs her hand and pulls her back up, checking for injuries, "Are you alright?"

[distantblue]

Her fingers hadn't even come close to brushing the shards before she was being pulled back up.

"...I'm fine."

[thelongestword]

Satisfied that there are no injuries that he can see, Shirogane is immediately back in lecture-mode.

"Get a dustpan. I'll clean up."

[distantblue]

This time, it's Akari's turn to hold onto him.

"Wait until I get a broom. I don't want you to get hurt either."

[thelongestword]

"This is my fault, so I should clean it up. I'll be fine."

[distantblue]

"No." Really, it was sweet of him to do this but in the end...

"It won't take me long to get a broom. So please just wait until I get back with it."

"......................Fine."
