When Oichi opens her eyes, the first thing that she sees is Hyoubu's face and for the strangest reason, the feeling that floats to the top first, is being pushed away and the hurt. So she immediately reaches for the hand that had, just moments before, been resting over her eyes. Just for confirmation. Confirmation that she wouldn't be abandoned, and that she was still allowed to stay.

'Don't leave. Don't leave. Don't leave. Don't leave. Need you. Need you so much. Don't leave. Only you. Please.'

It was always easy to read Oichi so he tried not to do it unless it was an emergency. He was not the sort of person to dig into the minds of those he cared about without permission.

Psychic powers, however, were things one could activate by instinct.

He could hear her thoughts clearly as well as feel what she felt.

Hyoubu didn't hesitate this time, to reach back and link their fingers together.

"I won't go anywhere."

And all it takes is those words, and the feeling of their hands linked together to bring a smile to Oichi's face. Her free arm wraps around him so she can press her hand against his back as she buries her face against his shoulder.

She's nearly overwhelmed by how content she feels, and...how strangely light her mind is. The oppressing feeling of having forgotten something important is still there, but it feels...distant, somehow. Like it belongs to another person. That was fine...right? If it belonged to someone else...she didn't have to remember. Gone are the white flowers, and that name she could never recall and it's almost strange that she doesn't miss them, but in its place are a pair of warm, callused hands linked with hers and silver hair that she had always found beautiful.

All the while he kept monitoring her situation using psychometry. As he suspected, it feels like the other Oichi's consciousness has been put to sleep.

That was another way to solve the problem. With things as they are now, it was unlikely that Oichi will lose control again.

Hyoubu draws her close, placing his free hand over the back of her head.

From the start he had no intention of forcing her to face the past. If that was what she chose, then he would have helped her. If it wasn't...then he would help her to do that.

It wasn't a perfect ending, but she was happy and maybe that was good enough.

"Are you hungry?"

Oichi shakes her head, rather more than necessary, because she wants to stay where she is.

But then it occurs to her that it was possible that he was the one that was hungry, and she looks up at him, "Are you hungry, Kyousuke?"

Not Mister Major, as she had taken to calling him since he had taken her in. Or even Mister Lolicon as she had called him for a brief while when Yoh had managed to convince her that was his name (he had gotten a smack on the head from Momiji and pretty much every other Pandra member for that). She called him Kyousuke, and she didn't think anything of it.

He starts at the use of his first name. He was so used to being called Mister Major by this point that he'll answer even if someone else besides her calls him that. (He hadn't smacked Yoh for what he did. Hyoubu didn't do that kind of thing. He just got that no good brat back with a prank.)

He recovered though. More likely than not, it had to do with the other consciousness sleeping within her. He shook his head.

"Not really. But it's been a while since breakfast, hasn't it? Are you sure you aren't hungry?"

"Ichi...wants to stay like this."

She takes a brief moment to look up at him, "Can we.....? Stay like this?"

Hyoubu's expression softens.

"We can stay like this for as long as you want."

She smiles up at him then, radiantly happy as she once again snuggles close.

PANDRA members find them like that later, cuddling. Although Yoh described it as "The Major is going after Ichi now. That's what Magi said. And you guys said I was bad for teaching her to call him a lolicon."
