"Sure." And Lion can keep look out on the window. It didn't occur to him yet that this was what Eagle was planning.

He walked over and took off his jacket and left it on a nearby chair. Then, without bothering to lift the blanket, he just lay down on the bed.

Eagle watches Lion for a moment before sighing and reaching for his own blanket to drape over Lion's shoulders.

Honestly, such a kid.

He then curls up in his own bed and tries to go to sleep.

The blanket suddenly being draped on him surprises Lion and he actually sits up a little to look in Eagle's direction.

"Oi. Don't you need this?"

"I don't need it. You're the one from temperate climates. I'm used to the cold."

With that said, Eagle curls up into a smaller ball with a yawn.

"I don't need to be babied." He stood up, took the blanket and walked right over to Eagle's bed and shoved it at him.

"You take it. I have my own."

Eagle sits up when the blanket is shoved at him, "It's not babying. It's common sense."

With that, he scrunches the blanket into a ball and throws it back.

Lion catches it then throws it back at Eagle.

"I said I already have one!"

"I already said you're taking it, so you're taking it!"

Stuffs it in the direction of Lion's face.

"I don't take orders from you!"

Lion holds the balnket away from his face with a hand and pushes it back.

"Just take the stupid thing!"

Eventually they had to have an intervention in the form of Nobody Else In the House Can Sleep Because Of You Two. Blankets back to their rightful owners, lights off and goodnights said, Eagle tried to sleep.

But...it was dark. It was dark and this room didn't smell of leaves and the night. He turns and tosses until finally, he looks in what he hopes is Lion's direction (actually that's where the door is, Eagle),

"Lion?"

Lion hated the smell of this place though he wasn't about to admit it. He was determined to fall asleep though, even if it's taking much longer to do so here.

He was sleeping on his side, with his back to Eagle. He didn't bother turning or...moving at all, actually when he asnwered Eagle.

"What?"

He'd have preferred it if Lion actually moved. As it was, he jumped when he heard Lion's voice seemingly coming from the wrong direction.

"Ah. Um. Well...."

Eagle turns around to face the direction he'd heard Lion's voice coming from, "Can you sleep, or...?"

Lion sighed, irritated (at himself and at this place more than at Eagle) and then turned to flop onto his back.

"Nah. This place smells weird." And he can't see in the dark. That really bothered him.

You have no idea how relieved Eagle is to hear that. There's a definite smile in his voice, "Yeah. It is weird."

But Lion was here...and somehow that made it better. In a world full of things he didn't recognize or know, it was nice that Lion was still an unchanging constant.

Lion snorts.

"Don't sound so happy about that." He doesn't sound that irritated though.

Lion shifts, putting his hands behind his head and staring up at the ceiling.

[eagleofthe_west]

"It's just nice that you're here, that's all."

You can't see it in the dark, but Eagle is definitely smiling.

Lion fidgets and is very much not looking at Eagle. It isn't because he's embarrassed to hear that someone is glad he's here or anything.

"Yeah, well..." He sounds so awkward right now. "same to you, I guess."

There is a quiet laugh from Eagle's side and for a little while, he does get to sleep just with that feeling of not being alone.

But not for long.

"...Lion? Are you sleeping?"

[lionofthe_east]

"........no."

[eagleofthe_west]

".......me neither."

Eagle sits up, tucking his knees to his chest, "I'm sleepy...but I just can't sleep."

[lionofthe_east]

"Yeah..." He sat up and rubbed at the back of his neck. He stared at Eagle for a moment before swinging his legs over the side of the bed and getting up.

"Move over."

[eagleofthe_west]

He's not sure he heard correctly because haha, Eagle could have sworn he just heard Lion tell him to move over.

"What? What did you say?"

"I said: move over." And when Lion is close enough he leans over to nudge Eagle. Just in case he missed what he said again.

[eagleofthe_west]

"You- What are you doing? You can't just-!"

He sits up, but makes no motion to move over.

"This is my bed!"

[lionofthe_east]

"I know that!" It was a quiet hiss though, because he doesn't want Keith in here again. "But I can't sleep because this place smells weird and you're the same way so we should just share a bed."

How he managed to say that without feeling embarrasses is anyone's guess.
