He's still attempting to push her away (but not with much success...)

"Thank you!" She grabbed his hand again. "You're a life saver!" Then, without further ado she was dragging him into the back room.

Past the models she had put the finishing touches on who were lining up to go on stage, past the dressing tables and into the back where her work table and supplies were. The entire area was a disaster with fabric and various other scraps and things spread out on the floor. It was like a bunch of clothes exploded all over the place.

He has full confidence in himself, just so you know.

The entire area made Shirogane highly uncomfortable. How could one small place be that messy?!

He has to sidestep around bolts of fabric, and piles of...things, "This place is a mess."

...excuse her a moment, Shirogane, her brain sort of needs a moment to hard reset. Because...what? WHAT?

Tsubomi's face heated up and she found that all she could do was open and close her mouth over and over and she had to remind herself that he was drunk even if he didn't look it.

"Sh-shirogane-san, you're drunk. We should get you back to your room." Right now. She took her hand off his shoulder and reached for his arm as if to pull him up.

"So will you come rest now? You need to take care of your body, you know."

AND THEN SUDDENLY ERIKA

That was really sad. Like, pathetic, sad and not sad. sad.

"I see you still haven't been able to tell her."

"I can explain!" Pause. "I guess I can't. But it's not what you're thinking...even though I don't know what you're thinking...:

Shirogane takes her hand and pulls her closer to him instead when she reaches for him, voice sincere, "I want to kiss you, Tsubomi."

"....Why are you always looking at me?"

He would address the sort of crazy-looking gestures she was making in his direction later.

GET OUT ERIKA

"It's not that I haven't been able to tell her, it's that I'm biding my time."

She laughed because if she doesn't she might start to cry. She had been strong for so many years now, she could be strong now. Just a little longer...for his sake.

She leaned into that kiss, "Trust me when I say I'm much better now." She paused then added as an after thought. "And don't call Fujiko unreasonable."

Fujiko had given up on so many things, among them the possibility of ever having a family, because how could she have one when she will have to minimize the time she spent awake? Yet she finds herself thinking...it would have been nice to have one with this man. Maybe it could have fill the void her comrades' deaths had left behind. At the very least, even no woman ever wanted to get old, she thinks...she would have been fine with it if it were with him.

But that's impossible.

"How would you know? You'd be asleep."

Don't be so cold to your girlfriend, Shirogane. (Or else she might just start restraining your arms.)

"I said I won't!" As if to make her point, she uncrossed her arms and closed the remaining space between them so that she was standing right in front of him. "I already told you: I'm not leaving."

"It's a bet then. Fujiko will meet you after work for a date." This is non-negotiable.

"This." To demonstrate, she pulled her hand back, finger tips brushing along the skin under his collar until they were resting lightly at the spot between his collar bones. She pouted at him.

"You wear way too much."

"Good." She placed a quick kiss on his nose before drifting back towards the bed.

Tsubomi would be lying if she said she didn't occasionally daydream about something like this happening. What had started as a small crush during their time in space had gradually become something that was nearly impossible to shake off.

"Um." In none of those daydreams though, had Shirogane been drunk. "I-It's not that I wouldn't like that...I mean." Why her? Why was this happening to her? "You're probably just thinking this because you're drunk. You should go sleep it off."

...is that what this was about? She stared for a moment before visibly relaxing. Right...Chypre had managed to duck out of the way in time, hadn't she? It's not like Shirogane-san would ask about something that he hadn't even seen.

"W-well...it's because you're really cool." She didn't seem to mind how her words could be seen as childish. There was really no other way to put it. "You're always so calm and you put so much effort into everything you do...I really respect you."

"If you say so." Forgive her if she doesn't sound very convinced. "If you ask me, you should just tell her instead of dancing around the issue."

The answer, as he would learn in later years, is that Erika had been here. That's why.

It should not have been possible for Erika to walk through the area without stepping on anything, but somehow she managed.

"It can't be helped: I was working, after all." She pulled the tape measure ribbon off her table as she passed and draped it over her neck. Erika made it across the room, and took the outfit that was hanging there.

She didn't want to admit it, but it was...a little bit of a relief to have someone else deliver it. She felt guilty for thinking it, and her hand immediately went to her limiter, making sure it was turned on properly.

Naomi (with a small curry stain on her uniform) walks over. "Good morning...ah." She laughed, "I guess it's nearly noon already."

Aqua smiled at her in response.

...he just called her cute. Aqua has been called many things but people did not often called cute.

She blushes and looks away, "Th-thank you."
