She takes a moment to actually look through a few of the pictures, to buy herself a bit more time to think.

"Are you sure? None of these girls are all that pretty." Pause. "Ah, I know here. Father's friends with her family. She's really annoying you know." She really had no reason to be so critical of these girls, but when she thought about them marrying Shirogane, she couldn't help but feel irritated.

She tossed the papers back on the counter carelessly. "With prospects like that, it might be easier if you just married me."

It said a lot about how well he knew her now that he knew she was probably going to teleport. So he just smiles instead (treasure it, Fujiko, the likelihood of him smiling for you again is low) and leans closer, "Yes."

"Don't be so cold." she says before nuzzling his neck.

He smelled nice, she thought. A little like mint...

"Since we've already slept together, there's no need for you to act shy~."

He pauses and then puts down the box in order to look at her.

It doesn't really matter if she's joking.

"....That's a good idea, actually."

There is a brief inner struggle following that nuzzle. On the one hand, it did feel good. On the other, he didn't want it to have felt good.

....Damn it. She probably read that.

"Sleeping together isn't anything special. Me and Ryuuko used to sleep together when we were younger."

"If you ever break your promise, I'll be angry."


And now he's just going to attempt to pull away. The problem is solved as far as he's concerned.

If his planning to get married had caught her off guard, his answer just now pretty much knocked her off her feet. (Not quite literally, of course, but it may as well have with the way her heart jumped.)

"Are you serious...? You're serious aren't you!?" Oh, god, whatdowhatdowhatdo-- "You can't joke around with a maiden like that! I'll kill you if you're just joking around!"

Because the moment he said it, she found herself liking that idea, though she wasn't quite ready to admit it out loud yet.

He's not privy to every thought that goes through her head, okay?

So with absolutely no suspicion whatsoever, Shirogane stops at the bookcase and pushes the book back into its place.

He frowns at the pinch, "If you weren't constantly asking me to promise unreasonable things, I wouldn't have to ask first."

Shirogane leans into the feeling of her fingers against his skin, "I don't see how I'm hopeless."

He promptly attempts to pull away from her.

"Don't stick so close to me."

[thelongestword]

...It sounded lonely, that song. Lonely and incomplete somehow.

When she does turn around, he doesn't seem surprised. But then again, it took quite a lot to surprise him.

"You weren't there."

The moment that comes out of his mouth, he feels kind of like an idiot.

Okay, turning to leave now.

She tried to read the space around her, trying to find a body among all that rubble and she found herself cursing her powers. If she didn't have so many, her growth wouldn't have slowed down so much.

Maybe if she was stronger she would have found him already!

She gritted her teeth as she continued to dig through the rubble.

If he could just come out of this alive, she wouldn't even mind that he was gloomy or didn't notice when she dressed up.

She'll even stop making unreasonable demands...she'll promise anything as long as he made it out alive.

Her voice was shaking but she didn't stop digging at the rubble. "If I stopped making unreasonable demands...you'll like that, right?"

She frowns, because the smile is still there. What could she do to make that smile go away.

Oh.

With a hopeful, helpful tone, she recites, "Sadness...sadness...fly away. Fly...away..."

Making a fluttering motion with her hands, she shifts, smoky hands flaring up briefly to support her, as she leans up and presses a kiss against his cheek before smiling brilliantly at him.

The first thing that came out of Fujiko's mouth when she burst into the store was: "Shirogane, I want to buy the raunchiest porn novel here."

He doesn't even turn around, "Leave."

Aqua settles down after him. She still preferred to sleep in the water, but this was all right too.

She slept on her back, turning her head to look at Eagle.

"Are you sure this is all right?"

"Oh. Oh!"

It was Aqua's turn to blush and look back at the water.

"Um...th-thank you."

She was distracted enough that she didn't hear a voice (that sounded suspiciously like Rabbit's) say 'way to go, Eagle'

Her hand closed over Shiho's without hesitation. Being a telepath herself, Aqua has always been very conscious about not flinching when touching a psychometer.

Besides, this was Shiho. Aqua trusted her.

"Are we going to take the metro?"

He looked down when he heard her starting to speak. What came afterwards though, left him speechless and was actually enough to make him stop for a moment.

Did she just...?

(The smile was definitely gone at this point.)

"Is that how you treat your customers? It's a wonder anyone still comes here." She marched right up to where he was.

"If you don't have it, then order it for me." Pause. "Unless you don't know any, in which case I can just give you a title to order."

"Okay."

Pause.

"Then could you please let go for a moment?"

Tsubomi froze for a moment.

Ah, she was hoping he hadn't heard...

She turned her head eventually, careful to move her body as little as possible.

"I-I'm just looking at the stars."

"I think any child who looked like you would be very attractive."

With a bright smile she closes what little distance remained between them and kissed him. She shut her eyes, but even as she did so she knew exactly where they were and what was around them.

Then it was only a matter of deciding on where they will go--

--then they were kissing on the train instead of the platform. A quick check told her no one else was here. Good.
