He takes the comb with a smile.

"Thank you." Okay. He knows how this works, sort of.

He pulls his legs back, and sort of shuffles so he's behind her and slowly begins to comb her hair.

"Tell me if it hurts, okay?"

[higannobana]

"Mm."

She nods, inadvertently looking up as she leans into the feeling of his fingers through her hair, the soft sound of the wooden comb.

It is a strangely intimate feeling, a familiar feeling. She can't help but to think that maybe there was another time when someone else combed her hair for her before bed. Who was it?

She couldn't remember so she lets the memory slide away, lets her mind empty of everything but the smell of the night air, of Kyousuke, of this moment.

Her hair is like the finest silk. That is what he thinks as he works the comb through her hair.

"Don't the servants normally brush your hair, Oichi-dono?"

They did, usually.

"Fujiko told Ichi to ask Kyousuke to do it for me."

Maybe it was for the best that she doesn't think to tell him that Fujiko had also tugged down the neckline of her kimono as well in order to show as much of her nape as possible.

She doesn't have to tell him. The moment she said that Fujiko-san was the mastermind behind all this he could already guess.

She is, after all, his sister.

"...I see." He says after a short pause where he didn't speak or move. Then he slowly begins to comb her hair again.

"Did Fujiko-san say anything else?"

"That Ichi should use her feminine charms..."

She had no idea what those are judging by the way she's looking at him and obviously hoping that he has the answer.

"Oichi-dono." He stops for another beat, then puts a hand on her shoulder to make sure he had her attention, "if Fujiko-san starts talking about 'feminine charms' please do not listen to her."
