He might have been miffed or embarrassed about being laughed at but she's just so cute that he can't really bring himself to feel that way. He looked down and scratched at his cheek idly. "Well as long as you're sure...and um. I don't really know what that is but I'm sure I'll like it."

He smiled without a single hint of insincerity or fakeness in the expression or his voice.

"As long as you made it, I'm sure it will be wonderful."

"It is... a little difficult to explain- but it is very filling."

She blinks a little at the last bit, feeling her cheeks go faintly pink.

"Well, that is very kind of you to say. I will do my best not to disappoint."

"You won't."

It never even occurred to him she would. His stomach growled again and he laughed sheepishly.

"I think...filling is probably good right now. Is there anything I can help with?"

"Oh no, please- just sit. I will get you something to drink in the meantime, alright?"

A pause, and then because she feels badly about not wanting to make him help with the cooking, adds-

"Though if you would like to keep me company while I cook, I would not object."

"You don't need to get me a drink." As it was he already felt like he was imposing. "But I'd never say no to keeping you company." He wasn't even trying to flirt; it was just an honest statement.
