He took the scroll she held out and, true enough, he couldn't read a word of it. Honestly, he probably wouldn't even know if he was holding it upside down. "I cannot. I suppose I will just have to take your word about its contents." He wonders idly how anyone could know about his story, given the circumstances. Then again, he wasn't about to rule it out as impossible.

Compared to a scroll he couldn't read, though, this woman was a lot more interesting.
