And no matter how many times she says it, he's still not really sure how to respond. In the beginning, there was no doubt that he didn't want her there. She was loud, and she was demanding, and he was uncomfortable whenever she was involved. He wasn't even sure when that had begun changing. When he had started looking for her if she wasn't there, and wanting to be by her side. When the 'thank god she's not here' had turned into an irritating worry over what could have happened to her.

Because as he spent more and more time with her, despite her faults, she had somehow endeared herself to him. He couldn't say if he loved her, but he knew without a doubt that he couldn't see his life without her in it.

So he leans down, tilting his head as he catches her lips with his own, hoping that this was what she meant when she said to do what felt right. And hoping that if it wasn't that he hadn't botched it up too badly.
